Industry Insiders webinar series a hit with TCNJ community

Exploring different ways to connect with the TCNJ community during the height of a global health pandemic, the Office of Alumni Engagement is launching the sequel to the immensely successful spring Industry Insiders webinar series on September 16.

“The Industry Insiders webinars have been a great example of how the TCNJ community comes together to share areas of expertise,” says Amy Walton, director of alumni engagement. “We’re looking forward to our fall 2020 lineup, and showcasing more opportunities that our students, faculty, staff, and alumni community can learn and benefit from.”

Tom Riles ’01 and Derek Wan ’01 will kick things off on September 16 with their presentation, “Script Your Career: Networking and Branding Your Way to Success.” The discussion will be moderated by Maurice Hall, dean of the School of the Arts and Communication.

Phillip Godorov from Godorov Law will join Jerry Petroff ’75, director of TCNJ’s Career and Community Studies, to present “Special Plans for Special Needs: Practical Advice and Estate Planning for a Family Member with Special Needs” on September 24.

On October 22, Elisa Torres ’08 will share her tips for tips on how to grow your professional identity with a presentation entitled, “Grow Your Piece of the Pie: Personal Branding for Professional Success.”

Finally, join Tammy Tibbetts ’07, a member of TCNJ’s Board of Trustees, on November 19 to outline the path you can take to turn small actions and everyday choices into profound social change with her presentation, “How to Do Something That Matters.”

“We invite and encourage the whole TCNJ community to join us for these wonderful discussions. Our team looks forward to seeing everyone virtually engage together,” Walton says.

The spring lineup, which included 14 exclusive webinars, featured topics that ranged from preparing for the school year, entrepreneurship, career development, interview skills, personal branding, and financial management. More than 1,350 registrants took advantage of webinars, with 18 percent taking part in more than one.

Interested in learning about a specific topic? Let us know and we’ll work with our alumni network to find a speaker who can share their talents, passions, or career track with the TCNJ community. Please contact Pam Persichetti at mancinip@tcnj.edu for more information.
